NASFAA Appoints Lackawanna College Staff Member to the Forward50
SCRANTON, Pa. – The National Association of Student Financial Aid Administrators (NASFAA) has selected Lackawanna College Compliance Analyst Kayla Guilford to sit on the Forward50, a group tasked with delivering innovative recommendations related to college access, affordability, accountability, and transparency.
“Lackawanna College students are amazing in their own way and they deserve to have someone represent their voices on a national level. I was very excited to learn that I was selected to be a part of this team! The extensive backgrounds and positions held by the other members of this committee are remarkable,” said Guilford. “I’m eager to begin a dialogue with this group of pioneering minds who will create the opportunities Lackawanna College’s hardworking, unique students need.”
This national committee—comprised of college presidents, members of governing boards, enrollment managers, admissions staff, financial aid and bursar leaders, students, and other forward-thinking leaders from all sectors of postsecondary institutions, will spend the next year examining policy areas related to access, affordability, accountability, and transparency.
“Each member of the Forward50 brings with them a unique perspective and set of experiences, but as campus adminstrators, leaders, and students, each has a vested interest in making sure college is affordable and that students succeed in seeing their programs through to completion,” said NASFAA President Justin Draeger.
“We are fortunate to have so many different offices and views represented and we’re confident that this group will come up with forward-thinking solutions to obstacles faced by today’s students that will be relevant far beyond the 18 months the committee is at work,” Draeger said.
The Forward50 will produce four white papers that will include practical recommendations for members of Congress and will be available to the broader policy community for review and comment in fall 2018.
