Lackawanna College, Temple University sign new transfer agreement
Deal will allow students from 14 majors at Lackawanna to complete Temple’s general education requirements upon graduation
SCRANTON, Pa. – Lackawanna College is proud to announce a new, broad transfer opportunity with Temple University for graduates in 14 majors that furthers the College’s mission to continue to support their academic success.
A new GenEd-to-GenEd transfer agreement signed between the two institutions will allow Lackawanna students in one of the programs below the chance to complete Temple’s general education requirements upon the completion of their degree.
Applicable majors from Lackawanna College are:
- Business Administration
- Communication Arts and Media Technology
- Computer Information Systems
- Criminal Justice – Counseling
- Criminal Justice – Police
- Early Childhood Education
- Environmental Science
- Liberal Studies
- Pre-Allied Health
- Recreation & Sport Management
- Sport Management
Lackawanna students may be required to take certain electives in order to have their associate degree comply completely with the agreement. The GenEd-to-GenEd plan also allows for other Lackawanna degrees to become eligible for transfer in the future upon the mutual approval of both institutions.
The agreement makes Lackawanna College the only institution in Lackawanna County to offer such a broad agreement with Temple.
Michele O’Connor, Associate Vice Provost for Undergraduate Studies, is very pleased with the signing of the GenEd to GenEd agreement and hopes that this is just the beginning of a long-standing partnership to assist the transfer of Lackawanna College students to Temple University.
