Lackawanna Athletics unveils new website and announces first annual Media Day
SCRANTON, Pa. – Lackawanna College, in partnership with Presto Sports, has announced the re-launch of the lackawannafalcons.com website that is the official home of Lackawanna College Athletics. The re-launch of the website is followed by the Lackawanna College Football team’s first annual Media Day to be held on Friday, Sept. 1 at Valor Credit Union Field at Scranton Memorial Stadium from 2-4 p.m.
The new website boasts an improved user experience with a strong emphasis on mobile, video, and social media. The goal of the site is to deliver a more immersive experience for Falcons fans. The site has a clean, streamlined design, making access to breaking news, stats, schedules, rosters, and making future ticket purchases easier.
“This is a new era for Falcon Athletics and our new Athletics website will help enhance the student athlete experience and promotion of all our high quality sports here at Lackawanna College. I could not be more excited for what’s to come for this College,” said Joya Whittington, Lackawanna College Director of Athletics and Head Women’s Basketball Coach.
The re-launch of the lackawannafalcons.com website focuses on giving fans full access to updates on all of their favorite sports teams on a singular platform. The homepage includes a slider that links to recent updates and quick access buttons to schedules and standings.
Social media integrations throughout the website will allow fans to connect and interact with their favorite content. Followers have quick access to the social outlets where the teams are most active including Twitter, Facebook, and Instagram.
The re-launch of the new site coincides with Lackawanna College Media Day where the football team will be available to meet the media for photos and interviews. Media Day will also be an opportunity for family and friends to meet the team before they open their season on Saturday, Sept. 2 with a home game against Gattaca. Kickoff for the season opener is scheduled for 7 p.m.
Both the re-launch of the site and Media Day provide a chance for student athletes to connect and build relationships with local media, fans, and the community.
