Environmental Education Center forms Beekeepers Club

COVINGTON TOWNSHIP, Pa. – The Lackawanna College Environmental Education Center (LCEEC) is excited to announce the formation of the LCEEC Beekeepers Club!

The club will meet on the second Tuesday of each month at 7 p.m. at the Lackawanna College Environmental Education Center, 93 MacKenzie Road, Covington Twp., PA 18444.  The first meeting of the club is scheduled for Monday, January 10, 2017, at 7 p.m.

Whether you are an experienced beekeeper, a new-bee, are interested in beekeeping or would simply like to learn more about the honey bee, this group is for you!  Join us for fun, friendship, and education as we share our beekeeping experiences. The primary goals of the group are to promote honey bee colony wellness, share best practices and experiences in beekeeping, and discuss production of honey and other apiary products.  All are welcome!

This club was designed to complement our Beekeeping Certificate program which begins on January 12 and runs until May 18, 2017.

Club meetings are free and open to the public.  For more information about our Beekeeping Club or Beekeeping Certificate Program. Please call (570) 842-1506 or email yaniks@lackawanna.edu
