    Dr. Nathaniel J. Williams to Deliver Lackawanna College Commencement Address

    SCRANTON, Pa.– The keynote speaker for Lackawanna College’s 124th commencement ceremony has been announced. Doctor of Education, non-profit founder, and author Dr. Nathaniel J. Williams will address graduates at the ceremony on Saturday, May 19, 2018 at 1 p.m. at the Lackawanna College Student Union, 500 Jefferson Ave., Scranton.

    A multi-national motivational speaker and lecturer, Williams has addressed issues of diversity and inclusion for over 25 years. He has spoken in front of the U.S. Armed Forces in Kosovo, England, Italy, the Netherlands, Portugal, and Spain, and before members of the local chapter of the International Association of Administrative Professionals.

    At a young age, Williams lost his is mother due to a cranial aneurysm, leaving him and his eleven siblings in the care of the New York City foster care system. His life experiences have inspired him to pursue initiatives to benefit diverse communities and help others realize their potential.

    Among his many accomplishments, Williams has authored nine books, including his most recent, The 10 Keys to Attaining Your Personal Best. This book, according to his website, “provides an overview of the major concepts and perspectives needed to attain your personal best by denoting all of the factors which must work in concert as your walk toward that threshold called your personal best.”

    Throughout his career, he has engaged in various professional roles, including direct-care worker, house parent, social services entrepreneur, business entrepreneur, Chief Executive Officer, adjunct professor, scholar-in-residence, and TV talk show host.

    Williams is a graduate of Lincoln University of Pennsylvania, Cheyney University of Pennsylvania, Strayer University, and Fielding Graduate University. He holds four graduate degrees, including a Master of Business Administration (MBA), a Master of Public Administration (MPA), a Master of Human Services (MHS), and a Doctorate in Education (Ed.D).
