    The Director of Public Safety is the Office of Primary Responsibility for cancellation or delay of college activities due to inclement weather. A decision to cancel or delay activities will be made no later than 6 a.m. for day classes and 3 p.m. for evening sessions.

    Winter weather may make it necessary for Lackawanna College to call for morning delays, early dismissals, or school closings. The announcement concerning delays, dismissals, or closing is normally made on:

    Closing/Delay Opening Terms

    COLLEGE CLOSED (No one reports)

    Designated personnel responsible for maintenance and snow removal will report to their respective work stations.

    CLASSES CANCELLED (Students & Faculty do not report)

    Lackawanna College staff members will report to their functional areas at normal starting times.

    NOON OPENING ( No morning classes)

    Monday/Wednesday/Friday – Classes begin with the normal fifth period at noon; Tuesday/Thursday – Classes begin with the normal fourth period at 1 p.m.


    Monday/Wednesday/Friday – Classes begin at 9:30 a.m.; Tuesday/Thursday – Classes begin at 9:50 a.m.

    During compressed schedule periods, students and faculty are requested to arrive on campus no earlier than 10 minutes prior to class starting times. This will enable personnel to adequately and safely clear campus parking areas and walkways.
