Head Coach - Mike Netti

Mike Netti is in his first season as the men’s basketball coach at Lackawanna College, bringing a wealth of coaching experience at the NCAA Division I level to the program.
Netti comes to Lackawanna after serving two seasons as an assistant coach at St. Francis (N.Y.) College in Brooklyn, N.Y. During his stint with the Terriers, Netti assisted with recruiting, academic progress, and a host of other duties in addition to working with the team’s wing forwards on the court.
The Liverpool, N.Y., native spent four seasons as an assistant coach Gardner-Webb University in Boiling Springs, N.C., helping that program win the 2005 Atlantic Sun Conference regular season title and finish just 40 minutes shy of capturing the league’s automatic bid and a berth in the NCAA Division I Men’s Basketball Tournament. Assistant Coach - Anthony Figueroa
Coach Figueroa is entering his 3rd year as an assistant coach. Coach Figueroa started as a student-athlete at Division 1 Chicago State University. Figueroa then transferred to Millikin University to finish his last 2 years as a student-athlete. After his collegiate career, Figueroa played two years of professional basketball in Puerto Rico. Coach Figueroa’s coaching career started at Centennial High School in which he was the Head freshman boy’s basketball coach and the assistant coach on the boy’s varsity team. After one year at Centennial, Coach Figueroa came to Lackawanna College and has been an integral part of the success that Lackawanna has had the past two years. Anthony Figueroa received his bachelor’s degree from Millikin University in Computer Science. Coach Figueroa is employed full time as the Diversity Management/Career Coordinator at Lackawanna College.

Gardner-Webb won 18 games in 2004-2005 and followed 17 more wins in 2005-2006– Netti’s final season with the Runnin’ Bulldogs.
During his time in Boiling Springs, Netti was a part of a coaching staff that directed Gardner-Webb to a pair of non-conference wins over East Carolina (Conference USA) and a notable non-conference win at the University of Minnesota (Big Ten). Netti also had a hand in the recruitment of two classes that were ranked No. 1 in the Atlantic Sun Conference by HoopScoop recruiting service – with the 2004 class keyed by two-time Conference Defensive Player of the Year Tim Jennings.
Netti – a 2002 Syracuse University graduate – gained valuable experience with the men’s basketball program at his alma mater, working out with the Orange during off-season conditioning. He also spent time as a student-assistant working in the men’s basketball office.
Netti played basketball at Division III Alvernia College in Reading, Pa., where he was a two-time varsity Letter-winner. In 2000, Alvernia won the Pennsylvania Athletic Conference title and a berth in the NCAA Division III National Tournament. During his time at Alvernia, Netti was the team’s representative on the NCAA Student-Athlete Advisory Committee.
