“I wanted to visit Lackawanna College because of the great work that you’re doing here — giving people a first-class education that doesn’t cost a fortune, with support in place to make sure that students stay on track.” – Barack Obama, August 23, 2013
During his historic visit to our Student Union on Aug. 23, 2013, U.S. President Barack Obama succinctly summarized the mission of Lackawanna College, the premier community-oriented two-year college in northeastern Pennsylvania.
Our small class size and 16:1 student-to-teacher ratio helps keep the focus on the success of every individual that walks through our door, whether it’s at our main campus in downtown Scranton, Pa., or one of our satellite centers located in Hazleton, Hawley, New Milford, or Towanda.
The college is committed to keeping higher education affordable for students of all socioeconomic backgrounds. Tuition per semester is $6,700 – one of the most cost-effective tuition rates of any private institution in Pennsylvania.
The math is as simple as 2 + 2. Spend two years at Lackawanna College, transfer your degree to the four-year institution of your choice, and save nearly 40 percent overall on your total student loan costs.
In addition to traditional degrees, Lackawanna College’s Continuing Education department serves the educational, employment and training needs of an ever-changing workforce. Our programs prepare students for a variety of fields from Physical Therapist Assistant and paramedic to Microsoft Office Specialist and administrative office professional.
