First-Time Freshman

A graduate of an accepted high school or a person holding a high school equivalency diploma (GED) may be admitted to Lackawanna College.

  • Applicants to Lackawanna College are not required to take the SAT or ACT exam in order to be considered for acceptance. Students not submitting test scores may be required to take an assessment exam.
  • Students without current SAT scores (must be less than three year’s old) or students with SAT’s scores of 410 and lower in each of the three sections (Critical Reading, Writing, and Math) will be required to take the Lackawanna College Assessment Test. The Office of Admissions will determine need for assessment during the applicant’s admissions interview.
Re-Admission
  • A student who has previously studied at Lackawanna College and desires to return for part-time or full-time study after an absence of two semesters or more must apply for re-admission, pay all fees and attend orientation prior to his/her return.

Transfer Student

Lackawanna College welcomes all students with previous post-secondary experience to apply for enrollment.

Transfer Application Process

All transfer applicants must submit the following information in order to be considered for acceptance.

● Completed admissions application with $30 application fee

● Official High School Transcript or GED, if applicable

● Official Transcripts from previous college(s) attended

● An official Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) score report if you have not completed any formal education with the English language.

It is the student’s responsibility to request official transcripts to be forwarded to the Admissions Office at Lackawanna College before enrollment can be finalized. Please note that all previously earned credits must be submitted by official transcript for evaluation before the start of the student’s initial semester of enrollment.

Transfer students that wish not to submit any previous credits to Lackawanna College will still be considered as transfer applicants, but must follow all first-time freshman requirements.

Previous coursework will be evaluated in direct relation to the student’s declared major.  Generally, credits earned within the last twenty (20) years with a grade of C- or better will considered eligible for transfer evaluation by the Registrar. All transfer students must earn at least 30 credits at Lackawanna College in order to receive an Associate’s degree
