    Adult Cooking Classes
    & Kids’ Summer Camps

    Learn to make impressive meals for your friends and family with adult cooking classes offered at Lackawanna College through the Lackwanna College White Apron Academy.

    Lackawanna’s professional chef instructors will walk learners of all skill levels through the cooking process in a fun, relaxed environment.

    Along with learning how to cook a meal from scratch, chef instructors will provide trade secrets to food and wine pairing. All classes are BYOB and a wine pairing suggestion will be offered for each class.

    Adult cooking classes are non-credit and open to the community.

    Classes will be held at the Lackawanna College Healey Hall kitchen lab, 415 N. Washington Ave., Scranton.

    * Minimum 50% deposit required when booking with credit or debit card OR within 10 days via mail when paying by cash or check. Deposits are non-refundable for cancellations or non-attendance. Deposits are held for weather or emergency class cancellations and will be applied to rescheduled or next classes offered.

    Saturday, February 16

    Valentine’s Day Couples Class – SOLD OUT
    6-9 p.m.  |  $135 per couple
    Includes 3-hour instruction and recipe packet for menu.

    Join us for our Date Night Series – Valentine’s Day Couples Cooking Class and Celebrate Valentine’s Day with us! Our hands-on class will walk couples of all skill levels through all the steps for creating our evening’s menu in a fun, relaxed class taught by our professional chef instructors. Our Chef Instructor will discuss the art of pairing wines with different types of dishes.

    Menu:
    Mushrooms Rockefeller
    Braised Short Ribs over Creamy Polenta and Roasted Baby Carrots
    Chocolate Peanut Butter Mousse Parfait

    This class will be a BYOB, so feel free to bring your favorite wine with you to enjoy. We’ll provide the glassware.

    Saturday, March 2

    Kids in the Kitchen Series: Pizza Party with Mom & Dad
    11 a.m. – 1 p.m.  |  $55  per parent/ child pair. Additional children are $15 each.
    Includes 2-hour instruction and recipe packet for menu.

    Children of all ages are welcome, but must be at least four years of age and accompanied by an adult. Enjoy time in the kitchen learning how to create classic and dessert pizzas from scratch! This course focuses on making dough and sauces, then assembling toppings to create personal sized pizzas.

    Create Your Own Pizza with assorted toppings

    Friday, March 22

    Girls Night Out Series: Go Greek!
    6 p.m. – 8:30 p.m.  |  $65  per person
    Includes 3-hour instruction and recipe packet for menu.

    Grab your girlfriends and join us for a night out in our fabulous kitchens! Create fun and delicious light fare and cocktails that you can recreate at home for your next girls night or cocktail party. Our Chef Instructor will discuss the art of pairing wines with different types of dishes.

    Menu:
    Minted Pea and Prosciutto Crostini
    Greek Pita Plate with Tzatziki, Hummus and House Pita Chips
    Mini Crab Cakes with Avocado Remoulade.

    Back to Basics: Five Ingredient Dishes, Sunday Supper
    11 a.m.- 2 p.m.  |  $65 per person
    Includes 3-hour instruction and recipe packet for menu.

    Making meals for your family just got easier. This class is designed to teach you cooking techniques that can be applied to easy and delicious dishes that you can replicate at home with only five ingredients. This course will create the perfect meal for a cozy Sunday supper, featuring an entree, two side dishes and dessert.

    Brussel Sprouts Gratin
    Red Skinned Garlic Mashed
    Blueberry Strudel

    Around the World Series: Italian Classics
    11 a.m.- 2 p.m.  |  $65 per person
    Includes 3-hour instruction and recipe packet for menu.

    Grab your friends and join us for a trip around the globe. In our Around the World series, we’ll make delicious meals from scratch using each culture’s traditional ingredients. Enjoy a trip to Italy as we create classic Italian dishes. Our Chef Instructor will discuss the art of pairing wines with different types of dishes.

    Chicken Saltimbocca with Asparagus
    Porcini Risotto
    Arugula and Parmesan Salad with Lemon Vinaigrette.
    Classic Cannoli

    Saturday, May 4

    Baking, Sweets & Treats: Spring Sweets
    10 a.m.- 1 p.m.  |  $65 per person
    Includes 3-hour instruction and recipe packet for menu.

    Join us for the Baking Basics class where we will discuss the fundamentals of baking as we create recipes using fresh and seasonal ingredients. Our Chef Instructor will discuss the art of pairing wines with different types of dishes.

    Lemon Bars with Rosemary Shortbread Crust
    Raspberry White Chocolate Trifles
