About the Sunbury Center
Since its formation in 1894, Lackawanna College’s mission has always been to provide a quality education to all persons who seek to improve their lives and better the communities in which they live.
That tradition continued as the College opened its new Sunbury Center, located in the Sunbury Plaza at 1145 N. 4th Street, in July 2017.
The College’s hallmarks – focused class sizes, progressive curriculum, and unparalleled student support – have expanded higher education opportunities for students in Northumberland County, the Central Susquehanna Valley, and its surrounding regions.
Academic degrees that can be completed in Sunbury are:
- Business Administration
- Criminal Justice
- Human Services
- Professional Studies
- Sport Management
Our available degree options will provide students from our new center with pathways to earn their bachelor’s degree at Lackawanna College or transfer their degree to colleges and universities across the country.
Join an Accredited Institution
Lackawanna College is accredited by the Middle States Commission on Higher Education, and that’s an important distinction for our students.
Accreditation means that the College meets the principles of the Middle States Commission including maintaining quality assurance and remaining up-to-date with federal regulations. It also ensures that our credits will transfer to other colleges and universities.
Numerous Transfer Options
Lackawanna College is currently the only private higher education institution that provides graduates direct access to Pennsylvania State System of Higher Education schools through the Academic Passport. This unique program, which is also open to community colleges in Pennsylvania or from one PASSHE school to another, grants junior status to transfer students.
Outside of the Passport, Lackawanna has signed articulation agreements with a number of private colleges and universities.
For more information on how your credits can transfer after graduation, visit our Advising and Transfer Services page.
