Towanda Center classes to be relocated to Keystone College

COURSES OFFERED

Lackawanna College, Towanda Center opened in May of 1993. Currently there are 170 students enrolled, both part-time and full-time.

80% of our students receive financial aid grants, 15% receive employer benefits and 5% receive no aid.

The average class size for the Spring 2009 semester is 10.5 students per class. Our largest class is Introduction to Psychology with 21 students. Small class size allows for a more effective learning environment.

The majors available are Accounting, Business Studies, Criminal Justice, Health Information Technology, Human Services, Liberal Arts and Surgical Technology.

We have students attending from every school district in Bradford and Sullivan Counties. Approximately 50% of our students are adult, nontraditional students. Most of our students work at least part time. The number of students taking classes while still in high school steadily increases. We actively participate in Dual Enrollment with the Northern Tier Career Center.

Services available at the Center include: personal career and educational counseling, individual career planning, college transfer planning, computer labs, and tutoring.

Students from the Towanda center have transferred to these colleges: Mansfield University, Bloomsburg University, SUNY Cortland, Wilkes University, Gettysburg College, Elmira College, Slippery Rock University, Shippensburg University, Marywood University, Lock Haven University, Penn State University and Misericordia University.
